Larimar is a very rare and unusual stone found in only a small location in the world. The amount of stone available is very restricted. Wholesale Larimar does our best to provide only the best stone available, however there are many factors that can influence Larimar production. Since it is found in such a small location of the world, the entire supply of Larimar is easily affected by many factors, not the least of which is the terrain and the natural occurrence of the stone.

The stone is best when mined by hand, heavy machinery or dynamite can destroy it .The best grades of Larimar can be found up to a hundred feet below the surface, digging through this manually with only a shovel can take some time. Another inhibiting factor is Hurricane season, which lasts for 5 months of the year, whilst a direct hit would be devastating, the rain during these months is often heavy enough to shut down mining operations for weeks at a time.

The political climate of the country can also be a factor, as can a myriad of other unforeseeable events. We understand that people like different aspects of the stone, for this reason we strongly recommend that people purchase in person from one of our authorized dealers.
